Anthony Hopkins stars in the moving biopic of humanitarian Nicholas Winton – a British stockbroker who worked to evacuate hundreds of children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia at the outbreak of World War II.
Tasked by his wife to declutter their house of his many papers, 80 year-old Nicholas is transported back to 1938 and his time in Prague where he joined forces with friends on the ground to help start the Czech Kindertransport.
Hopkins is on superb form here, with sterling support from Johnny Flynn as a young Winton and Helena Bonham Carter as his mother, a German-Jewish immigrant fighting English bureaucracy.
