Sarah Gavron’s (Suffragette) film follows Rocks, a teenager who lives in a London council flat with her younger brother and their mother. When her mum abandons them, Rocks tries to shoulder the responsibility put on her, relying on her friends for help as she tries to avoid well-meaning teachers and social workers.

A deeply moving but also joyful story of female friendship and determination.

Screening to complement our gallery exhibition, Amaal Said: Open Country.
