"★★★★ – A beautifully-crafted, witty, moving film likely to overcome even the stiffest Austen prejudice" – Empire

★★★★★ – Radio Times

Re-released for its 30th anniversary, Ang Lee’s sublime period drama features a wonderful cast including Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Kate Winslet and Hugh Grant.

Facing imminent destitution after the death of their father, the Dashwood sisters must seek financial security through marriage. The film zips along thanks to a nimble screenplay from Thompson (she won the Oscar for it) and it features the aforementioned Mr Rickman resplendent in regency dress astride a horse - what’s not to love?
