This locally produced independent feature film is written and directed by Leicestershire-based Douglas Cubin. It tells the story of four German soldiers in late 1944 who take refuge for one night in a Napoleonic fort. But there is no rest from war. The film stars Andrew Joshi from The Larkins, Giri/Haji and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.
The Fort is an examination of the mental anguish on Corporal Kohl (played by Joshi) who is haunted by the memories of the family he abandoned, memories which have now been deformed into nightmares by The Fort.
The Fort is Doug’s first feature film after successfully taking his first short film Finding Richard starring Colin Baker to Cannes where it was selected for the Short Film Corner.
The first event in a new strand of our programme, FIRST LOOK is dedicated to giving local filmmakers the chance to get their feature films up on the big screen.
