1917, Boston. Two young music students (Paul Mescal, Josh O’Connor) attending the Boston Conservatory bond over their love of folk music. Separated by war, years later they reconnect and their relationship deepens as they embark on a song collecting trip in the backwaters of Maine. Adapted by Ben Shattuck from his own short story and elevated by the two lead performances, this tender romantic drama explores the men’s passion for music and one another.
