The Uprising 15

"★★★★ – A blood-boiling historical drama that spirals quickly and with abandon" – Empire.

"Authentically gritty and satisfyingly bloody" – New York Times.

14th century England. War, plague, devastation, tyranny. It is from this landscape that the legendary leader of a rebellion emerges. When a humble peasant farmer known only as Ploughman (Garfield) is pushed too far by the introduction of a new tax, he joins with former soldier Wat Tyler to lead an uprising, uniting an army of common folk to defy the rule of King Richard II.

A gripping historical thriller with kinetic action sequences set during the English Peasants’ Revolt of 1381, from director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Trilogy, Captain Phillips).
