A travelling circus arrives in a village seeking business, but finds the locals in dire need of rice.
Despite lacking typical attractions, the circus draws large crowds, but the entertainers' illusions clash with the villagers' harsh reality. Told through the eyes of a young local, we watch as tension builds until a final surprise pushes the villagers over the edge.
