Hugely entertaining blockbuster fare, Twisters follows former storm-chaser Kate (Edgar-Jones) who is drawn back to Oklahoma where she meets self-styled “tornado wrangler” Tyler Owens (Powell) and sparks fly between the two.

But neither of them are prepared for what is about to hit the plains of the Sooner State, a terrifying new meteorological event that threatens thousands.

This is a real change of pace from Lee Isaac Chung’s last outing as director – the delicate Korean film Minari, but his eye for believable characters remains – here crafting an involving human drama amongst the monstrous swirling tornados.
