Sacha Polak's English language debut follows Jade, a young mother played by first-time actor Vicky Knight, as she is discharged from hospital after extensive treatment following a violent acid attack at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

She returns home to her two-year-old daughter and shoplifting mum (Kelly). However, her daughter is scared of her, places that were once safe and familiar feel uneasy, her confidence and sex life has changed and the NHS can do no more for her. Jade looks for solutions online, finding overseas clinics with cheap offers for life-changing procedures.

A powerful and sensitive portrayal of a young woman seeking to rebuild her life as she recovers from the emotional and physical scars following a violent acid attack at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

This screening is in partnership with University of Leicester as part of their Criminology Film Season. The screening will include an intro, and be followed by a Q&A.
