In 1969 around half a million people rocked up to upstate New York for a festival that would come to define an era: Woodstock.

One of the best documented festivals of all time, Wadleigh’s Oscar-winning documentary has become part of the festival’s mythos, capturing legendary performances from artists including: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, Joan Baez, Santana, Sly and The Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, Credence Clearwater Revival and many, many more, at the very height of their power.

Capturing the legend of Woodstock from preparation through to cleanup, Wadleigh’s Woodstock features the festival's highs and lows with remarkable concert footage and mug sliding fans, to collapsing fences and the famously surreal arrival of National Guard helicopters bringing food and medical assistance for the impromptu city of 500,000.
