Director Kazuya Shiraishi revitalises Japan’s beloved samurai period drama genre with this meticulously conceived film.

Kakunoshin (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) was accused of a crime he didn't commit. Having lost his wife and been chased out of his hometown, he now lives with his daughter Okinu (Kaya Kiyohara) as a ronin.

One day, Kakunoshin learns the truth that brought these tragic circumstances upon him and together, he and his daughter resolve to take revenge for the sake of their honour.
